Uniformed organisations

St Matthew's has both Guides and Scouts who are always looking for new members.

If you would like to join please use the contact details initially on this web site or follow this link:

Here is a bit about the scouts:

Now over 100 years old Scouting is the UK's most trusted youth movement, with previous members including Richard Hammond, David Beckham and 11 of the first 12 men on the moon.

With 30million members worldwide Scouting is also the worlds largest peace movement - I'm afraid you won't find any lil boys in green shorts and hats saying DYB DYB DYB, we haven't done that for over 50 years, instead Scouts try their hand at everything from kayaking and rock climbing to high rope walking and camping, to name a few.

Sadly the biggest problem is a lack of leaders Souting offers a safe place for young people (both boys and girls) to develop.

Scouts totally rely on adult volunteers to make it happen, from teaching young people how to cook to taking them to a Scout Camp.

Scouting has through its evolution maintained, at its heart, the core scouting values and is dedicated to enabling young people to achieve their potential and become valued members of their communities by providing them the chance to push their own boundaries and take responsibility for their own choices.

If you or your children would like to join St Matthews with Holy Trinity Scout Group, come along for an informal chat on a Friday evening:  Beavers is open from 6p.m., Cub Scouts from 7:15 and Scouts from 8:15.
