War Memorial

One of the features of the outside of our church is the
War Memorial,
which commemorates the men of the parish who died in the First World War,
including one Victoria Cross.

Due to vandalism this had been in a bad state of repair
but with much help form parishoners, Brent Stevenson,
and the War Graves Commission,
on Saturday 9th November 2013 the restored War Memorial
was dedicated by the Bishop of Blackburn,

in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant,
the High Sheriff, the MP, the Mayor of Burnley and cadets from the Navy, the Army, the RAF and the Police as well as Scouts and Guides.
